Victoria ferry service that operates across Lake Victoria between Bukoba and Mwanza:
The MV New Victoria has recently undergone an upgrade and now provides a more efficient and enjoyable way for both residents and international tourists to travel between the lake zone cities.
Departure from Bukoba to Mwanza via Kemondo Bay occurs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 PM.
The return journey from Mwanza to Bukoba via Kemondo Bay takes place on alternate days: Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Arrival time at each side of the journey is typically between 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, depending on how long the ferry stops at Kemondo Bay for cargo.

Ticket Prices (from 2024)
First class: Tsh 55,000/- for adults and Tsh 28,000/- for children (first-class rooms have two beds sharing).
Second class: Tsh 40,000/- for adults and Tsh 20,500/- for children (second-class rooms have four beds sharing).
Third class: Tsh 21,000/- for adults and Tsh 11,000/- for children (third class has no beds but seats for the general public).
Please note that child tickets are eligible for ages 3 to 11 years.
We also arrange for small cars to be transported on the ferry – early booking is recommended: USD$20 per car
